Whatever works best for you. Afterwards you can still use the planter as a modern testament to your personal patriotism. Alternatively you can just paint it again to match your home, backyard colors, or the season.

It’s an instant decor hit, and goes well with any party, it’s not even limited to 4th of July celebrations. Be sure to hang it over the snacks.
